CITY OF FLAGSTAFF
The city of Flagstaff is a beautiful mountain town in Northern Arizona. It sits at an outstanding 7,000ft in elevation and is home to a beautiful town full of rich culture, nature and history. Established in 1882, the City of Flagstaff currently has a very outdated logo. The aim of this project is to propose an improved logo design that is more modern, tells a story, and reflects where Flagstaff is now as a city.

In our initiative to create a new brand identity for the City of Flagstaff, our goal was to innovate on the original logo while staying authentic to it’s history and the cities origins.
It’s clear that the original is way too detailed, complex and hard to replicate in the modern, digital world. We wanted to innovate the most important elements into a modern design that would represent Flagstaff for decades to come.
This new logo design takes the most important elements from the original design. Containing the logo into a flag reflects the cities name and origin. The mountains reflect the most iconic landmark of Flagstaff, and the pine trees are the most common plant life through the Coconino National Forest.
